Collective-iz are a London based filmmaker collective working in experimental film, video and performance. Their works challenge conventional cinematic space, exploring the materiality of film and video, working with new technologies and the relationship between screen and audience. The evening will feature Nicky Hamlyn’s seminal 1974 work 4 X LOOPS, plus Rings, a live film performance using spatialised loops on four 16mm projectors. Karolina Raczynski and Deniz Johns will perform Signals, an audience-interactive video performance using mirrors and light, networked over Skype and carried out live between Edinburgh and Turkey. Amy Dickson’s Light Time uses a thermochromic screen that changes colour as it is exposed to the heat of a flame. The programme will include other film works by Maria Anastassiou, Neil Henderson & Cathy Rogers.
