Come and hear Baghdad-born film-maker and writer Hassan Blasim read from and discuss his highly anticipated second short story collection ‘The Iraqi Christ’ (Comma Press, 2013) in a rare appearance in Scotland. As a refugee of Iraq’s on-going troubles, Hassan has written in detail of the suffering of his homeland post-invasion, and of the plight of its two million refugees. He has won the English PEN Writers in Translation award twice and has recently been described by The Guardian as ‘perhaps the greatest writer of Arabic fiction alive’. An event not to be missed!
