Sally Hackett creates contemporary ceramics documenting the social rituals and habitual acts associated with current youth generation. Taking on the role of an alien, Hackett adopts the task to represent today’s culture through artworks, resulting in an iconoclastic set of objects. Her artefacts explore notions of self-obsession, self-objectification, the monotony of celebrity and the absurdities of such viral phrases as “thigh gap”.
