An exciting, exclusive first look at in-progress documentary Wings in Sleeves, the forthcoming feature documentary by talented filmmaker Kseniia Khrabrykh.

An intimate and personal film about LGBT culture in St Petersburg, shot over the past few years, Wings in Sleeves (ca 40 min) is currently being edited for completion later this year, but this will be the first time any of its extraordinary footage will have been seen publicly. Edinburgh Film Guild New Cinema is honoured to present this bespoke preview edit of the film, created especially for our celebration of Kseniia Khrabrykh’s work and as part of our larger series presenting the wide-ranging aspects of LGBT cinema and culture in Russia and Lithuania.

Alongside this main feature, we will also present an array of Kseniia Khrabrykh’s short films, highlighting her various talents as director, cinematographer and editor, as well as presenting further looks at Russian queer culture.

Olya Kurachyova, a Moscow-based representative from Russia’s only LGBT film festival, Bok-o-Bok (‘Side by Side’), and journalist (for Radio Svoboda and others), will be in attendance to discuss these films with reference to the LGBT culture which they depict.
