Abbie Gladwin

10 Years of Summerhall

Abbie Gladwin is a visual artist and designer and a regular attender at Reconfigure Life Drawing classes at Summerhall, along with other events and exhibitions.

We chose Abbie’s proposal from our open call because of the way she planned to weave her own memories and archival materials into a new representation of the building. It made us think of how the Summerhall building has been repurposed over its history, as well of the multiplicity of memories which hang around the place.

Abbie has created a new mixed-media representation of Summerhall using collage, photomontage, and monoprint.
