Edinburgh’s largest arts venue and award winning Fringe venue is now recruiting for our 2018 Fringe team. Last year we looked after over 220,000 visitors and delivered over 2,200 performances in three and a half short, busy and exciting weeks. We require all applicants to be available to work for the full Fringe programme (1st August-26th August), including essential training over three dates in July between 23rd-25th, have a UK bank account and required visas to work within the UK. We are looking for gregarious and outgoing people who love chatting with the public, working as part of a team and getting things done under pressure. You will be responsible for the day to day operation of the Summerhall Box Office, selling tickets and delivering excellent customer service even when under pressure whilst conveying enthusiasm and knowledge of our diverse performance and visual arts programmes. Expectations of the role: -We are looking for friendly, confident people who enjoy interacting with the public. -Ideally you should be passionate about theatre, the arts and music and keen to advise and talk to our customers about our programme. -Relevant experience of working in a Box Office, Front of House role or similar is required. -This is a fast paced and proactive role dealing with hundreds of customers every day. -Experience of Red61’s VIA Box Office system (or similar) is desired but not essential. -Previous experience of cash handling would also be desirable but not essential. -You will work as part of a small but efficient team. -Excellent time keeping and dedication to the role is essential.
