The Budapest Café Orchestra play traditional folk and gypsy-flavoured music from across the world. Balkan and Russian barnstormers are combined with jazz and swing-inflected Klezmer, Romanian and Hungarian Doinas and Czardas. BCO trademark beautiful ballads like Schindler’s List and the bitter sweet Flatbush Waltz are weaved into the fray. The Budapest Café Orchestra were established in 2009 by British composer, violinist and band leader, Christian Garrick. 2017 sees the band enter its eighth busy and exciting year and also, coincidentally, the release of their eighth album, Fifty Shades Of Goulash. The BCO have chalked up some 120 concerts across Scotland since 2011. This year they embark on their seventh annual consecutive tour beginning in Peebles in May and ending at Johnshaven in September. This will be their 4th appearance at Summerhall.
