From December 2015, Cro + Kow Photography will be starting a series of photography workshops and courses at Edinburgh’s buzzing arts centre, Summerhall.

COURSES AND CLASSES

Introduction to Photography Mini-Course (9th and 13th December 2015 – 6-9pm, £95)

Photography introductory classes are aimed especially at beginners who want to find out about their cameras, or if you would like a refresher on the likes of apertures, shutter speeds, and some of the fundamentally different approaches to using a camera.

It is aimed above all at the nuts and bolts of photography, but we will also start to talk about seeing – the process of understanding what you want to photograph, and looking for and seeing pictures, and also understanding photographs and what is going on in photography today.

Taking It Further Mini-Course (16th and 20th December 2015 – 6-9pm, £95)

Photography mini-course (7 hours of tuition) for the user who already understands the fundamentals of controlling their camera, and would like to take things further, concentrating more on approaches to the act of picture taking, and understanding images (with some technical tips along the way!).

Photography introductory classes (14 hours tuition) are aimed especially at beginners who want to find out about their cameras, or if you would like a refresher on the likes of apertures, shutter speeds, and some of the fundamentally different approaches to using a camera.

Studio Photography – Introductory Course (12th, 19th 26th & 2nd February, 6-9pm, £280)

Photography course (12 hours of tuition) introduction to studio photography – using studio lighting and equipment, understanding flash and continuous light, understanding lighting modifiers and controlling light, approaches to studio portrait and other subjects, mixing lighting sources.
