The Edinburgh Short Film Festival: Edinburgh’s accessible, friendly and eclectic short film festival, is now in its 7th year! The Festival starts on Friday October 27th, bringing the best in contemporary short form cinema to Scotland’s ancient capital.

We’ve an exciting programme lined up for 2017, featuring 32 UK premieres, 28 award-winning short films as well as no less than 20 Scottish-made films, a total of 78 short films from 25 different countries ranging from Chinese Drama and German Horror to Greek Sci-Fi, Arthouse cinema from the USA and animation from India.

We’re also screening no less than 28 award winning short films including, Academy Award nominated shorts, films fresh from Cannes, SXSW award winners, BAFTA winners and many other award-winning short films from home and across the globe!

On top of all that, we’re also hosting visits from award-winning short film directors from across the world, hosting lots of interview sessions, screening a hand-picked selection of Iberian animation from the Barcelona Int. Short Film & Animation Festival, screening a night of Scottish & International documentaries, hosted by the Scottish Documentary Institute, holding free to attend funding workshops, our award ceremony AND our infamous annual closing night party, featuring live music, visiting guests, a drinks reception and a chance to meet visiting film-makers and producers!

The 2017 Festival will run from October 27th – November 11th 2017 at Summerhall and The Filmhouse.
