The Edinburgh Short Film Festival: Edinburgh’s accessible, friendly and eclectic short film festival, is now in its 8th year! The Festival starts on Friday October 26th, bringing the best in contemporary short form cinema to Scotland’s ancient capital.
We’ve an exciting programme lined up for 2018, featuring 34 UK premieres, 29 award-winning short films as well as no less than 20 Scottish-made films, a total of 70 short films from 26 different countries ranging from Chinese Drama and Guadaloupe Ghost stories to Aregentinian Sci-Fi, Arthouse cinema from the USA and animation from Columbia.
We’re also screening no less than 29 award winning short films including, Palme D’Or nominated shorts, Cannes Audience Award winners,Sundance, Tribeca and SXSW award winners, BAFTA winners and many other award-winning short films from home and across the globe!
A new opera by indie folk-rock band Admiral Fallow and Gareth Williams. The opera is set in the world of whisky and gin manufacturing and will be touring distilleries throughout Scotland from 02 November until 25 November.
The ranks of celebrated directors who started their careers by making short films is legion from Agnès Varda to François Truffaut. This programme embraces film-makers who relish working in the format and some of them will be in attendance to presents their works.
