ELREC brings you one of Edinburgh’s best Ceilidh band – the notorious Matthew Maclennan Scottish Dance Band. The band will have a caller who will teach the dances, so the event is great for everyone from complete beginners to experienced ceilidhers.

This event is part of ELREC’s Routes to Roots Project: Adopting Scotland as a Homeland. Funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, the project aims to explore the intertwining shared heritage of Scottish and diverse communities, mainstream the histories of minority ethnic communities in Edinburgh and the Lothians and celebrate Scottish heritage. The aim of this Ceilidh event is to bring people from all communities together to celebrate the Routes to Roots book and the shared heritage in the city.

All proceeds will go to the charity for the Support and Advice project – helping people who have suffered from discrimination.
