"Burlesque like you've never seen it before… If Addam's Family Thing and Mae West had a brainchild, it would be this. Silliness, sexiness, invention abound. Surely a perfect fit as a knockout feature within a variety or cabaret production"

A burlesque-inspired ‘hand-tease’, celebrating the fluidity, versatility and down-right sexy movement that a hand can perform. A short form piece of hand puppetry which cheekily celebrates one person’s awakening and coming of age. Big bravado with… a small appendage! Finger Fatale has a strong visual narrative with no spoken dialogue and an immersive soundscape which informs the story.

Nudge Puppets was founded in 2017 by puppeteer and maker Ella Mackay, presenting experiences for adults and children.

Ella Mackay studied Fine Art at the Glasgow School of Art (2012-2016) and trained at the London School of Puppetry (2014/2015), The Curious School of Puppetry (2017), and The Puppet Theatre Barge (2018). She also co-founded the puppetry/visual theatre company Hopeful Monster (2017). She has a particular interest in the versatility of hands, conveying emotion through movement and exploring ideas about self, other and the blurred line in between.

The piece has a strong visual narrative and little to no spoken dialogue. There is use of complex soundscapes to inform the story. Transcripts of songs’ lyrics, and descriptions of each piece are available to collect at the Basement.
