Award-winning singer, songwriter and musician Kathryn Joseph returns to Edinburgh in a poignantly staged, live performance of her new album, From When I Wake The Want Is, following 2015’s acclaimed debut, Bones You Have Thrown Me And Blood I’ve Spilled.
An intimate and raw portrait of Joseph’s secret world, the music, produced by Marcus Mackay, is visualised by the intimate and provocatively expressive designs of Czech body architect, Markéta Kratochvílová, set by James Johnson and lighting by Nich Smith, with direction by Josh Armstrong.
The Lone Bellow burst onto the scene with their self-titled debut in 2013. The Brooklyn-based band quickly became known for their transcendent harmonies, serious musicianship and raucous live performance — a reputation that earned them their rabid fan base.
Jon Boden, best known is the lead singer of the progressive folk juggernaut Bellowhead, launched his solo career in 2016, playing the self-penned songs of the albums Painted Lady and Songs From The Floodplain and latest album Afterglow (Oct ’17, Hudson Records), material from Bellowhead, Spiers & Boden and his A Folk Song A Day project.
Over the last 20 years Mark Kozelek has been ploughing his own unique furrow, through his work in the band Red House Painters and through the moniker Sun Kil Moon. In 2017, Mark released a self-titled record in collaboration with Ben Boye (of Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy) and drummer Jim White (Dirty Three).
