What makes a great myth? How do theatre designers and directors bring a story to life in a live performance? How does a great collaborative working relationship start?

Titian was allowed exceptional freedom by King Philip II of Spain to choose his subjects for three incredible paintings ‘Diana and Actaeon’, ‘Diana and Callisto’ and ‘The Death of Actaeon’ inspired by Ovid’s Metamorphoses.

Join us for this hands on workshop led by theatre designer Fiona Watt to build new collaborations of your own as we explore creating three dimensionsal theatrical worlds from these two dimensional dramatic masterpieces.

You don’t need to have any previous knowledge of these paintings, it’s more exciting if you don’t. So come with an open mind, a great imagination and your detective tendencies.

The workshop will run for 2 hours with a 1 hour lunch break, pack lunches welcome though Summerhall also has a cafe, followed by a free tour of some of the Titian paintings on show at The National Gallery and a discussion session.
