Join an international company for a two hour workshop, and learn the techniques behind their awardwinning work.

You will explore visual and physical approaches to creating performance, and discover new forms of expression that can help your work travel beyond borders. Afterwards, if you choose to watch the company perform their show, you will get to see the approaches you’ve learned about in action.

This workshop is broken into three parts. The first part is a playful warmup to prepare the body for juggling and object manipulation, using exercises drawn from hatha yoga, physical theatre and other disciplines. The second part explores the techniques of manipulation and the many possibilities of how to move and use an object (in this case, a bucket). The third part explores personal and group improvisation using the object, with a focus on the actor’s presence and relationship with the object.

The trio behind Betti Combo first met at Flic Circus School in 2008, and later trained together at Le Lido circus school in Toulouse, where their BE FESTIVAL 2013 hit show Al Cubo was developed.
