To celebrate the end of a joyous 14 years as a performing band, Edinburgh’s Orkestra del Sol present a Summerhall all-dayer! Part one is a family-friendly cabaret in the cafe for all ages – magical moments and family fun from the Orkestra’s multi-talented extended family. Get down early to grab a table, get the coffees in or order lunch… and prepare for a fiesta of grand proportions:
– beautiful Balkan harmonies from all-female choir KUCHKE
– hugely talented spontaneous improvisation from instrumental trio SINK
– the best in New Orleans-style trad jazz from the LOOSE GROUNDS JAZZ BAND
– Calypso classics from THE MIGHTY PHANTOM and friends
– unexpected surprises from CIRCUS ALBA
– clowning and music from Father & Son duo CAMMY & ROBIN
The live music kicks off at 12.30 with none other than Orkestra del Sol!
This is an unmissable celebration of one of the UK’s most exciting and pioneering street bands, and the world will be a slightly duller place when the final notes ring out when midnight arrives on 2nd December…
