READING BY MARTIN STEPEK FROM HIS BOOK FOR THERE IS HOPE, AND JENNY ROBERTSON’S BOOK FROM THE VOLGA TO THE CLYDE, MEMORIES OF LOSS AND SURVIVAL

The authors, both Scottish-born but deeply influenced by their connections to Poland, share readings which explore experiences, understanding and stories with the wider themes of the unlikely but deep connections between Scots and Poles.
Martin’s Stepek’s readings at the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe were warmly received. ‘Heart-wrenchingly beautiful… a gift of hope… absolute talent for bringing his family history alive… an astounding depth of feeling. Stepek is a wonderful public speaker and an evocative storyteller. His book is a treasure to the reader and should be honoured as a piece of history in itself.’ (Beth Cochrane, Broadway Baby)

Jenny Robertson will be reading from her recently published book From the Volga to the Clyde full of deeply moving short stories that emerged out of memories gathered when she lived in Poland.

They will be happy to take questions after the performances and to sign copies of their respective books.

We do hope you will come along and experience this unique event for yourself.
