Nothing Ever Happens Here in collaboration with Edinburgh International Film Festival present for the second year Sound + Vision – an evening of live music and outdoor cinema within Summerhall!
This screening launches a new annual retrospective event. Each year EIFF will stage a single late night screening of a notable and relevant ‘live’ concert film from the past. In tribute to acclaimed director Jonathan Demme, (maker of such classics as The Silence of The Lambs and Philadelphia), who recently passed away, we begin with Stop Making Sense, Demme’s timeless record of the brilliant Talking Heads at the peak of their powers, featuring classic songs such as Psycho Killer, Burning Down the House and Once in a Lifetime. [PG]
Doors at 6pm for live sets provided by RM Hubbert, Indigo Velvet, Ela Orleans & Sacred Paws.
Please note this screening takes place outdoors and is not seated so bring a cushion or blanket. Lineup is subject to change.
Summerhall is proud to be launching its Inaugural ‘Car Park Ceilidh’, in association with Edinburgh’s Ceilidh Club. Set in our wonderful courtyard, we invite you to take part in this unique outdoor event!
Yorkston/Thorne/Khan return to Summerhall with their new album Neuk Wight Delhi All-Stars.
The best band in the whole damned land (and Texas is the reason), they kissed the sublime, and splintered apart in the process. Their arc, however, isn’t yet complete – see them together once again in The Dissection Room.
