From the Start to End team behind the performances of John Martyn’s ‘Solid Air’ at Edinburgh Fringe in August 2018 and Joni Mitchell’s ‘Court and Spark’ at Celtic Connections 2018, comes their take on Van Morrison’s 1968 sophomore album ‘Astral Weeks’.
Widely regarded as a classic album across the folk, rock and jazz music worlds, Start to End will recreate and reinterpret the youthful, freewheeling nature of the original 1968 album with aplomb. The core Start to End team of Craig McMahon, Martin Johnston and Joe Rattray will be once again joined by vocal powerhouse Sam West; the voice behind their performances of John Martyn’s ‘Solid Air’ and Jeff Buckley’s ‘Grace’, with a full band comprised of some of Scotland’s leading young musicians.
Support from Hannah Read.
