“Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God.” – Romans 12:19
Begrudgery is by no means only a Celtic emotion but it is commonly believed to have reached new heights in our beloved nation. Scottish artist Smithee wants us to admit these sins and even to relish them on the basis that “it’s better out than in”. For two months in Summerhall’s courtyard The Grudge Shed will be made available to visitors to leave small sacrifices and tributes to the gods of grievance. Perhaps even some of these dark desires of revenge will be answered. You never know your luck.
