Tennessee Williams described the play as: ‘The most beautiful play since Streetcar, the very heart of my life’.
He is a beautiful writer who captures the chaos of the heart and mind in a very real way, even in this experimental piece, at its’ heart is the struggle for clarity through trauma and mental health issues.
Are siblings Claire and Felice at the end of the line or caught in a never-ending cycle, fighting the fear of reality? As players in a troupe, distinguishing fantasy from reality, a play within a play sees the pair dip in and out of an ever evolving ‘The Two Character Play’, as they attempt to resolve a traumatic past in an outcry that may never be heard.
