Join us on an animation adventure with a week of exploration and experimentation to uncover the science behind moving images.

Each session will combine old-school making with technology as we learn new animation techniques suitable for the beginner to the more experienced animator.

Children attending for the full week will complete an Arts Awards in Creative Animation (Discover Level), accredited by Trinity College London.

Schedule

Monday 20th July: Make Mess Move
Prepare to get messy, really messy and animate all types of liquids and sludge! Bring a change of clothes.

Tuesday 21st July: Free Wheelin’
Enter the spinning animated world of the cyclotron and 3D zoetrope.

Wednesday 22nd July: Puppet Master
We learn how to build an animation armature and gain total control of your characters.

Thursday 23rd July: Stage Fright
We tackle staging and set design to tell your story and captivate your audience with mood and atmosphere.

Friday 24th July: Road Trip
It’s an animation adventure! Join the Zoom Club on tour as we tai a peek at the mesmerising Camera Obscura Edinburgh before making our own camera obscure back at Zoom Club HQ.

All materials, equipment snacks, trip, t-shirt and Arts Award costs included, lunchbox option also available (+£4.50 per day).
