April 3, 2018 Fringe 2018 Front of House positions now open Edinburgh’s largest arts venue and award winning Fringe venue is now recruiting for our 2018 Fringe team. Last year we looked after over 220,000 visitors and delivered over 2,200 performances in three and a half short, busy and exciting weeks. We require all applicants to be available to work for the full Fringe programme (1st August-26th August), including essential training over three dates in July between 23rd-25th, have a UK bank account and required visas to work within the UK. If you tick all these boxes, we want to hear from you. We are looking for gregarious and outgoing people who love chatting with the public, working as part of a team and getting things done on time. You will be responsible for getting our audiences in and out of our venues safely and smoothly at the start and end of each show and ensuring that we keep to tight running schedules as well as being polite and helpful, even when under pressure, and conveying enthusiasm and knowledge of our diverse artistic programme. Expectations of the role: -We are looking for friendly, confident people who enjoy interacting with the public -Ideally you should be passionate about theatre, the arts and music and keen to advise and talk to our customers about our programme -Relevant experience of working in a Front of House role or similar -This is a fast paced and proactive role- expect to be on your feet and busy every day -Be able to manage and guide large numbers of customers at our venues -Expect to work within a large team but also be prepared for some lone working -Ensure Summerhall is kept to a high standard and take part in the upkeep of the building.
