Chalk About

One4Review / Kath

A beautiful, thought provoking, energetic and sometimes emotional piece, this had us gripped from the moment we sat down. As we were being seated, the two characters were already active on the floor with their chalks. They portrayed their piece with the use of art, both with chalking on the floor and dance along with humour and music.

This was a bit of an experiment for me as I tend to review alongside my eight year old daughter, as quite frankly, nobody quite appreciates a childrens show quite like the child themselves. We have reached the point in our Fringe journey, where I decided to up the game a little and have a bit more grown up entertainment. This show did not disappoint!

My daughter was drawn into the performance hook, line and sinker. She laughed out loud, tapped her feet and looked very thouightful in places, even when a part of the story was being narrated in a foreign language. We thoroughly enjoyed this show and would quite like to back again as I think you would probably pick up on different things with each show.

It is perfectly suited to the over eights, as it is quite a thoughtful piece, but it goes at the perfect pace for the young audience. One of my favourite shows so far this Fringe.

If you are able to catch this shoe, I recommend that you give it a go.
