Edinburgh’s Festivals have pretty much everything, but fashion is not something that has been given centre stage. Until, that is, the Edinburgh International Fashion Festival, with four days of events centered around Summerhall, including talks, workshops and exhibitions.

Professor Ludovica Lumer talks about identity and self-image in Dressing the Self: Art, Fashion and Neuroscience (Summerhall, Thu 16 Aug, noon), which looks at the choices we make when selecting clothes and what that means for us on a larger scale. Scent expert Sissel Tolaas (Summerhall, Thu 16 Aug, 3pm) talks about her career and her recent work with German designer Kostas Murkudis, Endless_Lessend No 01 (Summerhall, Thu 16 Aug, 11am–9pm).

Chloe Patience and Mhairi McNicol’s label Bebaroque exhibits an exclusive collection (Summerhall, Thu 16 Aug, 8pm) with an after-show party at Summerhall to boot (Thu 16 Aug, 10pm–1am).
