Meteor Airlines
Sat 19 Oct 2024 @ 7:00 pm - 10:30 pm
Embarking on their first-ever UK tour, the Moroccan rock band Meteor Airlines is set to captivate audiences with their unique “Amazigh Rock” sound. From the city of Tinghir in southeastern Morocco, a region known for its breathtaking Atlas landscapes, Meteor Airlines infuses their music with deep cultural, historical and environmental significance.
The AGDAL tour, named after their latest 2024 album, is a tribute to the rich heritage and ecological wisdom of Morocco’s Amazigh communities. The album is a poetic exploration of climate vulnerabilities, resilience, and Amazigh traditional environmental knowledge. “Agdal,” a term rooted in Amazigh culture, symbolizes an ancient system of sustainable land and water management, echoing the band’s commitment to preserving cultural and natural heritage in the face of climate crisis.
“Through a powerful blend of music, poetry, and striking visuals, Meteor Airlines brings the stories of Morocco’s diverse landscapes to life, from communal oases to the majestic Atlas Mountains. The AGDAL album serves as a call to action, urging the protection of these vital ecosystems and the cultural legacies they sustain.” – Rachid Ennassiri, manager of the band.
Scottish audiences stand ready for a unique performance at the Summerhall, Edinburgh on October 19th, 2024. Don’t miss the chance to checkout Meteor Airlines’ soulful beats as they embark on their UK tour.
