Summerhall Festival 2019 Recruitment

Edinburgh’s largest arts venue and award-winning Fringe venue is now recruiting for our 2019 Fringe team.

Last year we looked after over 220,000 visitors and delivered over 2,800 performances in three and a half short, busy and exciting weeks.

Summerhall is exceptionally proud of its Fair Fringe pledge to fair employment following its landmark agreement with Unite Scotland. Summerhall is committed to providing a safe and fair environment to work within. To that extent, amongst its many working conditions Summerhall pledges to give employees; legally entitled rest breaks, equal pay for young workers for the same roles as older workers, no unpaid trial shifts, consultation on rota changes, contribution to post-midnight travel, and an environment free of discrimination on any grounds. Summerhall is also committed to paying hourly staff above minimum wage.

We are also proud to announce that Summerhall has achieved level two on the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society’s Venue Access Award.

We require all applicants to be available to work for the full Fringe programme (31st July-25th August 2019), including essential training over three dates between 22nd-24th July 2019, have a UK bank account and eligibility or required visas to work within the UK. If you tick all these boxes, we want to hear from you.

We are looking for outgoing people who love chatting with the public, working as part of a team and getting things done under pressure.

Ideally you should be passionate about theatre, the arts and music and keen to advise and talk to our customers about our programme.

It would be great if you had experience of working in a Box Office, Front of House, Bar or Technical role but it’s not essential!

HOW TO APPLY

Please read these job descriptions before applying as we will ask you to choose your preferred role.

Our Diversity monitoring form is available to complete here – this monitoring form is voluntary but the information we collect helps us to make sure that we are an actively inclusive organisation, and to work out what steps we need to take to do better.
