Awards

Summerhall regularly offers the opportunity for artists and performers to apply for a number of funded awards, including the yearly Autopsy Award, which aims to allow Scotland-based performers to undertake a Fringe run, and the Eclipse Award, presented in collaboration with Eclipse Theatre, which supports UK Black artists and other artists who are also marginalised for their race to present work at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe

We also offer the following reciprocal programming awards:

  • Melbourne Fringe Tour Ready Award
  • La Manufacture Alliance Award
  • VAULT Festival Award (open for applications)

Companies performing as part of Summerhall’s Fringe programme are eligible for the reciprocal awards with VAULT Festival, La Manufacture (Avignon) and Melbourne Fringe.   

All awards are supported by the Fringe Society’s Booking Fee Rebate scheme.

    Autopsy Award 2024

    The Autopsy Award aims to help artists working in Scotland who make boundary-pushing performance work to undertake an Edinburgh Fringe run. It offers a supported deal with a small cash award for the successful artist.

  • The Mary Dick Award 2024

    The Mary Dick Award 2024

    The Mary Dick Award offers a supported run as part of Summerhall's Fringe programme for a d/Deaf or disabled artist or d/Deaf or disabled-led company.

  • The Eclipse Award

    The Eclipse Award

    The Eclipse Award aims to help UK Black artists and other artists who are also marginalised for their race, and who make boundary-pushing performance work, to undertake an Edinburgh Fringe run.
