Robert Kuśmirowski’s Pain Thing (2012) is a powerful yet playful installation, created in relation to Summerhall’s former function as a veterinary hospital… witness an unsuccessful experiment, as it starts to live its own life*.
Kuśmirowski, lives and works in Lublin, Poland and specialises in transforming spaces. He has previously exhibited Bunker at the Barbican’s Curve Gallery (2009) and he has also presented solo exhibitions at the Berlin Biennale (Wagon, 2006) and the New Museum, New York (Unacabine, 2008).
Commissioned by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, as part of Polska Arts programme.
