The colour photos depict people and scenes from the US West coast, where I recently lived for a couple of years. I like to think there’s a bit of oddity, melancholy and humour in them.

The black and white prints are simple compositions, mainly sombre landscapes. They are made using a process called photopolymer. This is a technique in which an image is exposed onto a coated metal plate, which is then used for printing on paper.

I’m a self-taught photographer and printmaker, with a day job as a TV and film editor. I was born in Hamburg and I now live in Edinburgh.
