When Your Ship Comes In
Fri 11 Mar 2016 - Sun 13 Mar 201611:00 - 16:00
_ Venue: War Memorial Library
‘When You Ship Comes In’ traces John Sumpter’s art career between the ages of 60 and 70. We see John’s early forays into painting; chart his triumphant re-emergence as a conceptual photographer; and examine his descent into the murky mire of Lo-fi photographic imagery. The exhibition also features photo-books, creative writing, video, journalism and philosophy.
The title of the exhibition refers to the role of luck in art, and in life. But as the proverb goes: ‘If you don’t buy a ticket, you won’t win the raffle.’
One weekend only.
Opening: 11th March, 18:30-20:30
