Exhibitions
This winter, Summerhall hosts four new exhibitions of Scottish artists and photographers.
Graeme Todd’s ‘Street Hermit’ is the first significant survey of his work in Scotland since 2000, while 369 Gallery’s Andrew Brown curates a memorial exhibition highlighting the ‘Grandes Dames’ of the gallery -Pat Douthwaite, Carol Gibbons, Lil Neilson, Sheila Mullen, Margaret Hunter, Joyce Cairns, June Redfern, Fionna Carlisle and Caroline McNairn.
RSA Summerhall Exhibition Prize 2017 winner Aileen Keith presents her latest exhibition Head and Hand – whilst drawing has always been an important part of Aileen’s practice, here it takes central stage.
Historic Environment Scotland brings both photographer Anita Corbin’s Visible Girls – in which she captures pairs of young girls in the early 80s then tracks them down in the present to retake their portraits – and Invisible Spaces, in which young Scots aged 18-26 have created and curated a companion exhibition visiting similar themes.
Summerhall galleries are open Wednesday – Sunday between 11am and 6pm.
