Guinea Pigs On Trial

TV Bomb / Steven Fraser

Sh!t Theatre have definitely chosen the wrong name for their company. Louise Mothersole and Rebecca Biscuit are two very talented performers and their ability to connect with an audience is what makes Guninea Pigs on Trial such a pleasurable experience.

In the past Sh!t Theatre looked at the problems with unemployment, now they are tackling pharmaceutical trials and the ethics of Big Pharma. We learn that the performers attempted to sign up to various trials and offered themselves as guinea pigs to these companies. As the show progresses we realise this was not as simple as they first thought and their experiences are frustrating, funny and surprising. The various techniques they use work seamlessly and blend together, while the story is pleasingly told through songs, jokes and anecdotes, making Guinea Pigs on Trial feel like a cabaret with a conscious.
