Gym Party

Three Weeks / Jade Wilson

We compete, the audience is reminded: we love to win and we win to live. The three energetic performers are contestants in their own show, all clad in white gym clothes, differentiated only by coloured wigs and shoes, our players are like computer game characters or tiddlywinks on a board game. But it is not all fun and games; their frank memories brought back the anxiety of PE and changing behind the door before my mum would buy me my first bra. A series of competitions create winners and losers, silly tasks unearth truths we would rather ignore. This clever company never preaches, but by playing they not only entertain the audience but also encourage questions and discussion.
