Earth Cruises Present…Vieux Farka Toure

Having rocked sold-out shows in various cities across the UK last year, internationally respected Malian guitarist Vieux Farka Touré returns to showcase his virtuosic musicianship once more.

After the momentous release of Ali, a collaborative album with indie-darlings-turned-global-powerhouse Khruangbin, Vieux Farka Touré’s star power is spreading far and wide.

Revered as “the Hendrix of the Sahara”, Touré’s star-power has now grown beyond the narrow confines of any “World Music”-based generalised comparison. Although always inspired and propelled by the far-reaching legacy of his late-father Ali Farka Touré and the Songhai music of northern Mali, Touré’s music has found a distinctive voice of its own. Blending traditional melodies and rhythms with soft touches of hypnotic psychedelia, his music is riveting in all its twists and turns and his playing transcends.
