Insider Trading are a four piece that have been making waves in the Edinburgh underground scene for two years, becoming a staple of the post-punk scene in the city. After multiple sold-out headlines at Sneaky Pete’s, high profile support slots on Maruja’s European tour, and a well-received debut single, the band are gearing up for their biggest show yet.

A blend of textural post-rock with furious walls of sound reminiscent of 80s no-wave and the gentler melodic aspects of slowcore, the band have carved for themselves a unique sonic identity in the Edinburgh gig landscape. Their live performances are known for their highs of cascading of guitars centred around a powerful rhythm section, which unfolds into contemplative lows punctuated by spoken poetry and serene instrumentals. The discontinuity creates a tension that makes for a live performance that is at once both dynamic and cathartic.

The culmination of two years of writing and performing across Scotland, this is the band at their very best. Coming to the first time to Summerhall’s Old Lab, they aim to make their mark on the Scottish scene with an outrageous announcement of their presence. This is not one to be missed.
