SYNTHESIS

The first annual SYNTHESIS exhibition is the result of an international cultural exchange programme devised by curators Scott Hunter and Sam Chapman and sees collaboration and collective experiment between Scottish based artists Oana Stanciu and Danielle Macleod, and Japanese artists Gak Yamada and Yuichiro Higashiji.

Stanciu and Macleod incorporate elements of sculpture and surrealism into their practice and their Japanese counterparts, Yamada and Higashiji take a contemplative and conceptual approach to image-making. The resultant body of work is exhibited in this group show.

As a continuation of this cultural exchange SYNTHESIS will be exhibit Art Spot Korin, Kyoto, in October 2023.
