Wonderlust

Vicky Viola is a multidisciplinary artist based in
Edinburgh with a degree in Fine Art Photography
from Glasgow School of Art. Her photography is
colourful and nostalgic, but tinged with eeriness. The
use of Polaroids enhances the playfulness but by
increasing the size she is changing the object from a
being a fun, disposable, perhaps secret moment into
something that cannot be hidden or ignored.
This collection of images are from her extensive
travels, with moments captured in Japan, the USA and
the UK, the latter which were taken during the
pandemic and the brief respite periods in-between in
places that had become ghost towns.
