Starring Nicholas Cage and Laura Dern as a recently released convict, Sailor, and his lover, Lula, Wild at Heart is a thrilling and spontaneous ride on the American road. Winner of the Palme D’or at Cannes Film Festival in 1990 and yet subject to divisive reviews, Wild at Heart, like many of Lynch’s other works, has been retrospectively considered as ahead of its time. More than thirty years later, Wild at Heart is an unruly and chaotic watch with a standout performance from Laura Dern. Screening as part of Weekend with David Lynch (22nd + 23rd October).
