BAC: On Ways to Disappear

Me and the Machine

On Ways To Disappear is an ongoing research project of installations which look at the use of optical instruments as portals into alternative realities that intertwine with the surrounding fiction of everyday life.

The Tourist is a man trapped in a postcard, bound to knock forever more on the exit door of an inescapable paradise.

These site-responsive works, installed in windows, doors and other architectural gateways, re-imagine and re-choreograph what lies behind, positioning viewers at the centre of situations that are seemingly at arm’s reach yet out of their control.
