The Viewpoints: Acting Workshop

The Viewpoints represent not only a physical technique but also a philosophical, spiritual, and aesthetic approach to actor and ensemble training. It was first developed in the United States by choreographer Mary Overlie as a technique of composition that provides a vocabulary for heightening awareness and impulse regarding space, movement and gesture. American directors Anne Bogart and Tina Landau evolved The Viewpoints to become a creative system for staging and performance. Instructor Sarah Loveland is from the University of Washington Professional Actor Training program, where The Viewpoints is taught along with Suzuki Technique as core physical training. Join Sarah and other UW students for an introductory workshop over two days and discover a new world of dramatic creation. Water bottles and movement attire, please.
